THE ROLE
In November 2024 we embarked on our first round of senior appointments, and we are now pleased to move forward with our second tranche of recruitment. This includes the role of Director of Finance (Deputy S151), which will lead the development and delivery of the council’s Corporate Services including finance, procurement and revenues and benefits. We are therefore looking for exceptional candidates who can support our focus on value for money and as well as provide the right governance and engagement to support the management of risk across the council. You will also work with senior colleagues across the council and with external partners to nurture a culture of accountability and responsibility, driving productivity and performance and ensuring there is clarity of purpose with a focus on service improvement and change.
We know we have a challenging journey ahead of us – but the building blocks are in place and we are determined to emerge as a stronger and more innovative council, with the right people and the right structure. Ultimately, this is about our communities and residents, and ensuring that we can offer them the excellent services and support they deserve as well as fully release the borough’s potential.
