Corporate Resources Director (S151)

Ashfield District Council
£87,840
Hackney

Ashfield is thriving. We are proud of our district and our ambition is for all our services to be high quality, customer focused and cost effective. We have already secured over £200m of investment for Ashfield, and we are driving better services and local growth through innovation and by adopting a ‘can-do’ attitude. The council is financially sustainable and secure, and we are also maximising the benefits of our prime location - right next to the M1 and sitting between the core cities of Nottingham and Sheffield.

THE ROLE

As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team and managing a high-performing team of 18 people covering finance, procurement, anti-fraud and commercial development, our new Corporate Resources Director will play a crucial part in our mission to transform Ashfield. A key focus of your role will be to help the council safely navigate future changes to government funding, as well as support new and more efficient ways of working and develop income generation streams.

The role reports to the Executive Director of Transformation but as the statutory S151 officer, you will also need to offer the SLT and Members clear and robust strategic advice on all finance issues. This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious authority with a huge regeneration agenda, and we are therefore seeking innovative and positive candidates with a strong track record in local government financial leadership who want to play a key role in our future success.
