Director of Public Health

London Borough of Barnet
Up to £130,000
Hackney

Barnet is London’s second largest borough by population, home to 390,000 residents. While the population has grown by 9% over the past decade, the borough is defined by its unique heritage and well established diverse communities. Reflecting this, Barnet Council is committed to ‘caring for people, our places, and the planet’. The council is now looking for a high-powered Director to deliver its exciting public health strategy as part of its long-term plans to make Barnet an even greater place to live, work or study.

THE ROLE

Our public heath team prides itself on its collaborative approach, working with services right across the council, including transport, housing, sports and leisure, as well as key partners including the NHS and a variety of community organisations. We want to build on the strengths of our excellent schools, vibrant town centres, vast green spaces and diverse communities to reduce inequalities in health outcomes and do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of Barnet’s residents.
